---- In the year 649 AD, the 23rd year of the Zhenguan era, Master Xuanzang completed this translation at the Daci'en Temple in Chang'an. It is the crystallization of wisdom brought back from Nalanda in India, following a grueling 50,000-mile journey. For over 1,370 years since its translation, it has remained the philosophical bedrock of Eastern civilization and a pinnacle of translation in world literature for its phonetic beauty and profound logic.
