Tom's quiet Saturday at Benny's house soon turns into a thrilling fight for their lives when the vicious alien Grazlax hunts them down. The two boys must learn to combine their capabilities, or the Nekross's savage pet will devour them.

After Tom uses up all of his magic, and since Benny's scientific genius is useless against an otherworldly creature, the Grazlax menace grows out of control. Now, it is a race against time. Will anyone survive this frightening ordeal?

When Tom meets another wizard named Jackson Hawke, he cannot resist dabbling in dangerous magic, shunning warnings from Benny. Unbeknownst to the three lads, the determined Prince Varg and the Nekross are inching ever closer to Earth.

Tom and Jackson take the fight to the Nekross, but their forbidden grim magic is taking a toll on Tom. Only Benny can help his best friend, but he has been enchanted. Tom's Dad, along with Gran Ursula, fight to reach Tom before dawn rises.
