After years of speculation about the identity of our tame racing driver, the Stig finally removes his helmet in front of a studio audience. James and Richard find themselves racing Royal Mail as they attempt to drive from Penzance to the Orkneys faster than a letter, while Jeremy puts the new Lotus Evora to the test out on the track. Richard heads to Abu Dhabi to test the new Lamborghini Murcielago while Jeremy and James attempt to make Volkswagen advertisement, with rather predictable results! Plus, sprinting superstar Usain Bolt finally sets a time that matters.

James grabs himself a gorgeous old Jaguar XK120 whilst Richard chooses the brutal but rather fantastically named Vincent Black Shadow motorbike. Meanwhile, in an almost unprecedented move, Jeremy takes the train.

The credit crunch is confronted head on as the boys attempt to find three sensibly priced small cars that won't make you miserable, a process that involves haranguing bankers, harnessing large dogs, and almost getting arrested. Plus, James meets American stunt driving legend Ken Block, Jeremy tests the mildly insane Mercedes SL Black on the track, and comedian Michael McIntyre is the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car.
