1. The Coming of Robin Hood

Sir Robin of Locksley returns to England from fighting in the Crusades to discover that the notorious Sir Roger de Lille has been given his family's lands and castles, and has had Robin declared an outlaw. Robin takes refuge in Sherwood Forest and joins a band of outlaws led by Will Scatlock who names him Robin of the hood.

2. The Moneylender

Robin and Edgar lighten the load of a greedy, crooked moneylender Herbert of Doncaster by taking his purse full of money and giving its contents back to the poor villagers and farmers from whom he took it. When Will Scatlock is mortally wounded, he uses his dying breath to pass the leadership of his gang over to Robin Hood.

3. Dead or Alive

The giant Little John escapes from his feudal lord, and after being captured by the sheriff's men, agrees to capture Robin Hood in exchange for his freedom.

4. Friar Tuck

Disguised as a monk, Robin visits Friar Tuck, a jovial, fat, holy man, and together they organize the escape of Mildred from the clutches of the Lord Germaine and the Sheriff. Though his church is in Nottingham, the friar becomes a close ally of the outlaw and begins to pay frequent visits to Sherwood.

5. Maid Marian

Having ambushed the Sheriff's courier, Robin's life is put in peril. He is arrested by the Sheriff while Lady Marian Fitzwalter, his childhood companion, is accused of being in league with the outlaws.

6. A Guest for the Gallows

Nottingham's tax collectors find it harder and harder to collect the county's levied assessments. When the Sheriff of Nottingham decides to make an example of Will Stukely, a poor farmer who could not pay his taxes, by hanging him, Robin Hood tricks the Sheriff into leaving the walled town, capturing him, and offering to trade his life in exchange for the condemned man's.
