In the South African countryside children go in search of dung beetles. They find them and follow one beetle as it rolls a big ball of dung a long way: and stands upside down to push it up into it's nest. Another beetle also rolls a ball along. // Two small Indian children prepare Bhelpuri- adding potato, onions, tomatoes, etc to ingredients in a bowl. Then they add red and green sauces, taste it and agree it is good, then they put spoonfuls onto plates.

Two small Korean children get dressed in traditional clothes. Children on a beach make a small tower of sand, then smooth the sides to make a curving track all the way round it to the base. Then they roll marbles down the track. // The international Film shows two children from Taiwan pouring dried peas and beans into bottles, which they shake, while they bang upturned saucepans with chopsticks. They make lots of noise.

The international film shows Chilean children using spades to dig holes to plant flowers in a garden, pressing the soil around the plants. After they water the plants, they pour water over their hands to wash off the soil. // The international film shows Russian children. They place a sheet of white paper on the floor. Then they fill a hanging bottle with coloured sand. When they take the cap off the bottle - the coloured sand runs out making patterns on the white paper as the bottle swings on its string.

The international film shoes Indian children demonstrating the number 1 - using 1 of each: Apple, Butterfly, Puppy Dog, Baby. Horse, Cotton Candy, Scooter, Ball, Bus. // The international film shows Taiwanese children making lanterns from coloured paper and cellophane. They also hollow out a large vegetable to hold a candle. Then they go outside in the dark with their lit lanterns.
