1. The Heart of the World

Gulnaz receives a rare invitation to enter the little-known world of the Arhuaco in Colombia. One of the few indigenous peoples in the Americas to survive the colonial period with their culture and traditions intact they call themselves the spiritual elder brothers to the rest of the people (the younger brothers) of the world. They have a vital climate message for us all.

2. Stopping the Desert

Gulnaz travels the length of the Sahel region of Africa from Mauritania and Senegal in the west to Ethiopia in the east. Here as worsening desertification threatens Muslim and Christian communities alike priests and imams and scientists are refining traditional practices that promise to hold back the Sahara and its shifting sands.

3. Saving the World's Forests

Gulnaz journeys to Japan to learn how some of the oldest continuously recorded climate records on the planet have revealed that global warming is upending centuries-old traditions even as ancient shrines and temples provide new approaches to reforestation and conservation.

4. Reclaiming Peru's Glaciers

Gulnaz follows in the path of the ancient Inca and contemporary Catholics as these two great spiritual traditions confront the inexorable deglaciation of the Andes and forge new ways to mitigate the climate crisis by way of timeless engineering and international lawsuits as well as pilgrimages and prayer.
