During her first visit to the prison, Gemma meets the glamorous Francesca, wife of a career criminal, and Lou, who is bringing her seven-year-old son to visit his father for the first time.

Needing money after her house is seized, Francesca gets a job as a hospital cleaner and finds herself enjoying her new independence and the company of her coworker, Lukasz. Gemma takes action to clear Steve's name, and respectable mother Harriet tries to visit her son, Gavin.
