It's been nearly a year since their father's sudden death revealed the existence of siblings Cat (Lauren Socha, Misfits) and Cathy (Ellie White, The Windsors) to each other-and Colin's mistress, Marilyn (Siobhan Finneran, Downton Abbey), to his wife, Tess (Rebecca Front, Inspector Lewis). The sisters are now reeling from the news that they have a secret brother, Callum (Christopher Jeffers, Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga)-whom Cathy just snogged.

While Tess makes extravagant plans for spending her inheritance, Marilyn is furious to learn she wasn't Colin's only mistress and tracks down his other lover, Angela (Michele Austin, This Is Going to Hurt). But that backfires when Angela gets thrown out by her shocked husband, leaving Marilyn to take in the house guest from hell. Having formed a hard-won bond since Colin's demise, can this unusual family welcome these newcomers into their lives?

Meanwhile, Cathy's mom, Tess, decides to have some fun with her late husband's legacy and embarks on an ill-advised luxury spending spree.

As Valentine's Day approaches, Cathy accompanies Cat to her evening math class and is delighted to see the teacher, Eamon Hammond, is a hotty. But as she lets her heart rule her head, there's growing tension between the sisters. Angela resorts to kidnapping her own dog in an effort to win back her husband, Peter, and Tess starts a new job in the worst place possible.

Cathy is excited to take Cat and Callum to help Auntie Dawn with lambing season on her farm, but the special trip seems ruined when Tess turns up with an unwelcome visitor. The fallout from Cathy's date with Eamon Hammond leads to a rift between the sisters. Will Marcus see an opportunity to win back his ex-fiancée, or will he be too distracted by his attempts to out-man Callum?

Cat and Cathy and their moms try to get Callum to heal his rift with Angela. They lure Callum to the Northern Soul Revival, where Cathy and Marcus's relationship is tested again, and Tess comes to the rescue in a life-or-death situation. The next day, the siblings' DNA results bring more surprises, but none so big as what Colin has in store for them on the first anniversary of his sudden death.
