The threads that bind the Sanders family begin to unravel when the matriarch of the family, Pamela Sanders, meets an untimely death. Cameron Sanders Sr., the heir to the family business, finds that his privileged upbringing is anything but an asset when faced with a difficult client. Now that his wife is gone, Cameron's mistress, Carissa Walker, wastes no time seizing the opportunity to move up the ranks. Stephanie Sanders struggles with grief as she contemplates moving back home, and back into the arms of her married lover. Cameron 'Cam' Sanders Jr. regrets being out of touch and questions the circumstances of his mother's death.

Pamela's death tears open old wounds as Cameron Sr. tries to cope with his grief…and his conscience. Benjamin is convinced that it's the right time to start grooming Cam Jr. for a future in the family business. When Cam Jr. moves back into the family house, the stars seem to be aligning, but after a tense dinner with his family, Cam Jr. spirals out of control. New housemaid Brittany makes her presence felt, while Raymond and his wife grow further apart. The police start closing in on the Sanders family by picking up their associate, Adebayo.

Cam Jr. is forced to face the consequences of his actions. Cameron Sr. reluctantly takes an unscheduled meeting with Adebayo, but things aren't as they appear to be. Carissa moves into the main house and immediately clashes with Stephanie, who is intent on protecting her father from Carissa's intentions. Desperate to get away from the drama, Torrance heads to the basketball court where he finds a willing distraction. Raymond is caught between a rock and a hard place when Stephanie reaches her limit and his wife starts packing. Benjamin takes his frustrations out on his son, and Carissa makes a bold and very risky move to consolidate her power.

The SEC finally catches a break when an unwilling informant comes through with good information. Cam Jr. attempts to lay low while the circus surrounding his arrest dies down, but an old flame tries to lead him into temptation. His confusion pushes him towards Brittany, who is more than willing to take care of Cam Jr. when he falls ill. German bankers approach Cameron Sr. with a substantial offer, but Benjamin is less than thrilled. Tito, an ex-lover of Carissa's, attempts to re-enter her life, but ends up jeopardizing everything she's worked so hard for when he makes a surprise visit to the main house. Benjamin questions Carissa about the circumstances leading to Adebayo's murder while holding onto a secret of his own.

Cameron Sr. takes his relationship with Carissa to the next level, but he isn't the only one making her an offer. Stephanie is less than thrilled about her father's news and is hell bent on destroying his relationship. Benjamin does damage control on Cam Jr.'s case and gives Cameron Sr. some unwanted advice. Torrance is approached by the NBA G league but finds it difficult to focus on his training. Carissa is forced to confront her feelings for Tito, who gives her a choice she hesitates on refusing. A getaway seems to be the perfect distraction for Stephanie and Raymond, until he comes to an upsetting realization about his marriage. All the while, law enforcement closes in on the Sanders banking operation.

After weeks of radio silence, a former associate of Adebayo's emerges, demanding to receive his cut of the money laundering operation. Meanwhile, Stephanie receives some shocking news, but it is overshadowed when she learns that Raymond's wife is pregnant. Excited for the future, Torrance holds a press conference to announce his decision about his basketball career. His bright future is threatened, however, when old enemies of Cam Jr. decide to take their anger out on Torrance. In the hospital, Benjamin bonds with Carissa, realizing that they aren't so different after all. The FBI and the SEC tap an unlikely source to get the missing pieces they need to bring down the Sanders' operation. Carissa takes matters into her own hands when she discovers the original leak, proving she's ruthless enough to be queen of the Sanders dynasty. But when Cameron Jr. discovers the truth behind his mother's death, the whole house comes crumbling down.
