1. Liverpool and Kent

Architect George Clarke returns to unlock the potential of old houses. He meets teachers Simon and Sofie, whose 1930s Liverpool semi has lost its way thanks to a small kitchen squeezed into what would have been the wash house and some dodgy interior design choices made by the previous owner. Can he come up with a structural redesign and interior scheme with just £15,000? He also visits a medieval farmhouse in Kent that's like a perfectly preserved time capsule.

2. Stratford-Upon-Avon and Hastings

George Clarke meets single father Rick, whose four-story terrace in Stratford-upon-Avon has just one room per floor and is totally impractical when his children come to stay. Can the architect come up with a clever redesign to create space and much-needed character? He also helps single mum Donna in Hastings, whose Victorian double reception room has not been touched for 50 years.

3. Wales and Hove

George Clarke sets out to turn a part-Victorian, part-Georgian and part-medieval house in Wales into a modern family home - but the biggest challenge comes when it turns out co-owner Oona does not like kitchens. Can he come up with one that does not follow the standard design? He also meets a couple who have moved into a Victorian house in Hove with an awkwardly shaped extension.
