The dry season is in its death throes and the pans are all but pools of dry mud. The few remaining water sources are stretched to their limits and bustling with stressed animals.

As spring sets in, a diversity of wildlife makes the best of the bounty in the area. Foam nest frogs begin their frothy courtship while storks prowl the full pans.

Kim gets the fright of his life when a large male lion saunters right past him and looks deep into his soul.

Kim and his human clan have a spell of unusual encounters; from a family of white rhinos, to a cacophony of jackals, warning of a leopard in the vicinity.

In this Season finale, Kim spends some quality time with Saskia and Kiki before heading off on his own for a few days.
