Cities of the World - Season 3

New York, the Big Apple for the locals, is the largest city of the United States. Its most famous sight is the monumental Statue of Liberty, but there are also the famous skyscrapers like the Empire State Building or Rockefeller Center, while the twin towers of the World Trade Center are sadly missed.

Paris is the ‘city of light’, the ‘city of love’ and the ‘capital of fashion’. The bank of the Seine, the Montmartre and the Quartier Latin speak of artists: about Dumas, Zola, and Victor Hugo, who depicted the city in unforgettable literary pieces and about painters who did the same on canvas.

The long lost, forgotten cities of South America always were in the imaginations of the masses. In Peru, we can dream ourselves back into the empire of the Incas, into the age of the Sun God and the ruthless conquistadors. We can travel the 1,000 year old Inca trail, travel through the Sacred Valley and take a walk in the amazing ruins of Machu Picchu. We can meet Kechua and Uros Indians, we can buy their traditional clothing and listen to their songs and music.

Thailand, the former Siam, is an ideal place for tourism because of its natural beauty, climate, exotic culture and its hospitable people. Our film introduces one of the two tourist capitals, Phuket. The island is visited by millions of tourists for its sandy beaches shaded by coconut palms, sea water of 26-28 degrees, many athletic activities and its nightlife.

The 5,500 square meters large southern part of the once proud colonial empire is Algarve, bathing all year in the sun. From the hilltops, moor forts look down on to the surroundings.
