Quinn Ross returns home to article at his parents rural law firm in Goderich, Ontario. He has big dreams of filling his dad's shoes, but his first case flops when Quinn fails to make a convincing argument before city council. Making his mark in a small town is going to be tougher than Quinn thought. Christine Wiseman is the first lawyer in her working class family. Articling at a corporate firm, she's come a long way, but her dream job turns into a nightmare when she realizes she may be in over her head. She's terrified someone will discover she's "a fraud".

Bill Thompson, a Hardy Boy fan, lands in one of Canada's leading criminal defense firms. A committed defender of the under-dog, Bill uncovers key evidence that clears their client of assaulting a cop. It's the kind of stuff articling students dream of. Aisha Chaudry, a recent immigrant and mother of two, articles at a legal aid clinic. Her client, a deaf Angolan father faces criminal charges and possible deportation. A complicated case, Aisha must overcome her inexperience and a demanding home life to keep her client's family together.

3. Paying Your Dues

Christine Wiseman is the shining star in her family. The first lawyer, they have high hopes for her. But Christine's disgruntled with her new found life. So far it's all grunt work, and her personal life is just as frustrating. Moving in with her fiancé and planning their wedding is taking its toll. Quinn Ross comes from a family of lawyers. He's working at his parents rural law firm, but so far he's not proven himself to be a chip off the old block. Fighting to save a dog shelter, Quinn finds himself 0 for 2 in the courtroom.

4. What the Future Holds

Quinn Ross is anxious to spread his wings. Articling at his parents law firm, he has big plans for the family business. Quinn wants to become a corporate player representing big-money clients. But first he has to convince his parents he's on the right track. And Bill Thompson has to make a difficult decision, one that could jeopardize his whole future. His senior partner wants Bill to help get illegal guns off the street. Problem is transporting a gun without a license is a crime, punishable by a year in jail.

5. Trials and Tribulations

Christine Wiseman finds her niche at Lawrences, an established corporate law firm. She sets her sites on litigation, but good trial lawyers are a rare breed. She's wanted to be a lawyer since she was a child. Does Christine have what it takes? And Aisha Chaudry argues her first refugee hearing before a tribunal. It's a difficult case, and the odds are against her. Canada rarely accepts refugees from Mexico. Can Aisha convince the tribunal that drug dealers will kill her clients if they're deported?

6. Full Speed Ahead

Quinn Ross lands his first big corporate client, an old school chum with a risky business venture. He's stoked about the potential earnings, but his father warns him to go slow. Not an easy thing for Quinn – a speed demon with a fetish for racecars. And Christine Wiseman gets her second crack at the courtroom. It's a big case with millions of dollars at stake, and her boss has put her in the driver's seat. Despite a rocky start Christine's been doing really well in litigation but she's shocked by some early decisions her firm makes about her future.
