Quinn Ross returns home to article at his parents rural law firm in Goderich, Ontario. He has big dreams of filling his dad's shoes, but his first case flops when Quinn fails to make a convincing argument before city council. Making his mark in a small town is going to be tougher than Quinn thought. Christine Wiseman is the first lawyer in her working class family. Articling at a corporate firm, she's come a long way, but her dream job turns into a nightmare when she realizes she may be in over her head. She's terrified someone will discover she's "a fraud".

So far it's all grunt work, and her personal life is just as frustrating. Moving in with her fiancé and planning their wedding is taking its toll. Quinn Ross comes from a family of lawyers. He's working at his parents rural law firm, but so far he's not proven himself to be a chip off the old block. Fighting to save a dog shelter, Quinn finds himself 0 for 2 in the courtroom.
