1. The Tomb Is Open

In the aftermath of the crucifixion, Peter struggles with his guilt at having denied Jesus. For those few believers who did stay to see His end, they receive some solace when the corpse is released for proper burial. Caiaphas and Rome place guards at the tomb. The guards are no match for Jesus, who raises himself from the dead.

2. The Body Is Gone

The disciples are overjoyed when the resurrected Jesus returns to them and strengthens their resolve, although it takes a second appearance before Thomas can truly believe. At the ascension, Peter and the other disciples are sent by Jesus to fulfil his mission. They are told to wait for the Holy Spirit.

3. The Spirit Arrives

As Caiaphas and Pilate struggle to contain the news of the resurrection, the arrival of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost galvanizes the fledgling church. Peter's daughter unexpectedly arrives in Jerusalem and Peter is arrested following his miraculous healing of a beggar. Pilate's life is threatened by Jewish rebels.
