Susan Hayward stars in this dramatic tale of the Oklahoma oil boom. She plays Cherokee Lansing, a determined young woman out to protect her father's honor after he's killed by men from a competing oil company. With a cast that includes Robert Preston, Ed Begley, Pedro Armendariz, and veteran character-actor Chill Wills as the narrator, this engaging picture from producer Walter Wanger (Cleopatra, I Want to Live!) was nominated for an Academy Award in the Special Effects category.
