Tom Brown's Schooldays

Thomas Arnold (Cedric Hardwicke) is hired as the new headmaster at Rugby. The students have a reputation for being "bullies". He institutes disciplinary policies, and expels numerous students. Many of the staff, trustees, and parents turn against him. Squire Brown (Ernest Cossart) his most vocal supporter, decides to send his own son Tom (Jimmy Lydon) to Rugby as a demonstration of confidence.
