About

Based on the true story of the Queen of England's father and his remarkable friendship with maverick Australian speech therapist Lionel Logue The King's Speech stars Academy Award nominee Colin Firth (A Single Man) as King George VI, who unexpectedly becomes King when his brother Edward abdicates the throne. Plagued by a dreaded stutter and considered unfit to be king, he engages the help of an unorthodox speech therapist named Lionel Logue (played by Academy Award Winner Geoffrey Rush). Through a set of unexpected techniques, and as a result of an unlikely friendship, Logue helps the king find a voice with which he will boldly lead the nation into war.
