The Black Book

Directed by Anthony Mann, The Black Book is set during the French Revolution where Maximilien Robespierre (Richard Basehart) wants to become the nation's dictator. Plotters seek to bring him down and end his bloodthirsty Reign of Terror (as the film is also known), and with his black book - a list of those marked by him for the guillotine - missing, the end may very well be in sight.
