Roy Rogers tries to prevent a range war between cattlemen and sheepherders.

To get the Delaney ranch, Cole's henchman Anders has started a phony range war between the cattlemen and sheepmen. After killing Delaney, he tries to kill his daughter and then Roy who was sent to investigate the war. But the failed attempts give Roy the information he needs to expose Cole's plot.

The film was part of the series of Roy Rogers films that featured him as a singing cowboy and his horse Trigger. The film also featured the Sons of the Pioneers, a Western music group. The film was written by Mauri Grashin and Jean Murray, who also worked on other Roy Rogers films such as Home in Oklahoma (1946), Under Nevada Skies (1946), and My Pal Trigger (1946). The film was directed by William Witney, who was one of the most prolific directors of Western films and serials. He directed over 60 films for Republic Pictures, many of them starring Roy Rogers. He also directed other notable films such as Adventures of Captain Marvel (1941), The Crimson Ghost (1946), and Zorro's Fighting Legion (1939). He was known for his fast-paced action scenes and innovative camera work. He later worked on television shows such as Lassie (1954-1973), Bonanza (1959-1973), and The Virginian (1962-1971).
