About
This documentary was compiled at the end of World War II and was then, as it remains now, a thorough and fascinating overview of America's wartime exploits in the Pacific theater. Narrated by Captain Carl Zimmerman a then-unknown army correspondent who went on to great success in the American radio scene the documentary follows the battles that resulted in Japanese defeats at New Guinea, Guadalcanal, and the Central Pacific. Prominently featured is the famed General Douglas MacArthur, who is seen fulfilling his widely publicized promise to return in triumph to the Philippines, formerly the site of one of his greatest humiliations.
