About
Bifurcated half in Paris and half in New York City, Paris Rendezvous tells the story of Théodore, an awkward and clumsy Parisian still struggling to come to terms with a bad breakup. Depressed and hopeless, Théodore is suddenly reinvigorated by a pretty girl jogging by and instantly falls in love with her. He begins to follow her and soon discovers where she lives and resolves to find a way to win her over. The next day, Théodore stumbles upon an old songbook from a secondhand bookseller missing a page with a mysterious 1920s jazz standard on it. Out of curiosity, he researches the song, called "The Sound of Love" only to discover that it purportedly has the power to make anybody who hears it instantly fall in love. Théodore's hopes are reignited when an additional source confirms the legend of the song, and he sets out on a quest to New York City to find it, where there resides a jazz singer likely to have a copy of it. Théodore musters up the determination to obtain the song by any means necessary, but the holder of it turns out to be more of a challenge than even finding true love. In addition to being an uplifting, feel-good film, Paris Rendezvous is underscored by a classy jazz theme, featuring New York City jazz musicians playing key roles in the film.
