As the year 2018 comes to a close, the world is facing its greatest humanitarian crisis since World War II. Based on the 2017 United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees reporting period, an estimated 68.5 million people have been forcibly displaced from their homes, with 52% of the displaced being children.
