Danny Glover and writer/director Phil Alden Robinson (Field of Dreams) reveal the impact of the 1960s civil rights movement on a small Southern town in the compelling drama Freedom Song.In the fictional town of Quinlan, Mississippi, the arrival of a civil rights group leader inspires a young African-American teenager, Owen Walker (Vicellous Reon Shannon), to join the crusade to desegregate his hometown. Leading sit-ins and helping black people register to vote, Owen and his friends risk their lives to transform Quinlan.
