Coney Island Cousins

Val, a jaded Russian nurse, arrives in Coney Island to meet her free-spirited cousin, Yulia. Val wants to blow off steam from her demanding line of work, but Yulia wants to organize a family reunion instead and reconnect Val with her roots within the Russian community in Brooklyn. Val pushes back stating she has limited time off and wants to make the best of her short time in the city. Yulia, relents and agrees to start the party by introducing Val to Max, a boozing Russian businessman, inside his apartment. Max displays an array of Ecstasy pills he brought back from his trip to Bali, and the night starts with a bang, sending Val into a hallucinatory trip. But the part ends when Max accidently dies from an overdose. Distressed, Yulia attempts to leave, but Val discovers Max's open tabs in his computer and realize they will have access to all of his lucrative financial accounts. Standing her ground, Val vows to stay. Val confesses to Yulia she's having issues with her husband and has reached a crossroad in her stagnant life. She could use Max's money to turn things around and buy things she's never had. But their plan is compromised when Max's mistress, Marleen, shows up demanding to know his whereabouts. Now, Val and Yulia have a lot to answer for, and must find a way to escape and start their whole new lives without getting caught.
