Birdman of Alcatraz

Story of Bob Stroud, (Burt Lancaster) a steely two-time killer with a volatile temper who develops a growing interest & love for birds behind bars, (starting after Stroud finds an orphaned sparrow in the prison yard). Full of wonderful performances, this drama from director John Frankenheimer is rich in character detail, absorbing & rewarding. Lancaster was nominated for an Academy Award.
