My Boy

Sarah nurtures a heartwarming relationship with a 2 year old boy she calls Johnny. She buys him new clothes, reads him bedtime stories and introduces him to a group of close friends. She says he is the son of her cousin who is going through a rough time and is unable take care of him. Her friends are happy as Sarah herself has been through rough times after the death of her daughter Laura in an horrible car accident a few years back. One of the guests is Luke Berg, the family lawyer. It doesn't take him long to connect the dots and realize that Johnny is a boy that has been kidnapped a few days earlier. He tries to convince Sarah to give him back. She promises she will but, instead, embarks on a journey that will take her through five states. Sarah and Johnny connect with Alex, a young runaway, who becomes their travelling companion. Sarah tells Alex everything about Laura and explains that this is the trip she was suppose to take with her daughter but was never able. The three find a magical place in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. It seems that they finally found a haven until... "My Boy" is a partially autobiographical film and has won a long list of awards.
