Upon the Stars is a book consisting of poems, a musical composition, and short stories, both fiction and non-fiction created by a mother-daughter team. Dr. Linda Mata includes poems she has written along with two ancestral biographies and the epic of Sundiata Keita of Old Mali.
Her daughter, Christiana Guarino has included poems she has written with some dating back to early childhood. She has also written a story in tribute to her late grandmother along with three other short stories. As in their first book entitled "Roads and Reminiscences," they have expressed views of nature and everyday life and revealed contrasts between views of mother and daughter. This book exemplifies a positive parent/daughter relationship and promotes creativity on the part of young people, as well as adults.
