Life turned tragic for Tilda at a young age. Her parents die within weeks of one another after a pneumonia outbreak. Then she's sent to an orphanage where she's treated like slave labor. Once she's of age, she seeks an escape. The path of least resistance seems to be becoming a mail order bride. But her husband to be only wants her as labor.
