Alexandre Dumas' famous musketeer hero d'Artagnan first appeared in The Three Musketeers. This book is a later adventure in the Three Musketeers saga, which links into the real-life tale of the mysterious 'Man in the Iron Mask' who was held in Bastille for reasons unknown.
