Arizona Territory, 1879

Hiding in plain sight has always been Jimmy's specialty-but in the questionable town of Linden, staying invisible becomes impossible. One ride into town changes everything for him: he rescues Josephine from her harassers, gains an unexpected promotion in the Van Der Kamp gang, and gets adopted by a stray dog tied to a dangerous mystery.

Already torn between his loyalty to Van Der Kamp and his desire for justice, a promise to an undercover marshal and his growing bond with Josephine complicate matters as Jimmy is caught in a web of deceit. Linden's convoluted operations include ties to Mack Pennington, a ruthless industrialist and enemy to both Van Der Kamp and the marshal. Even Josephine's connection to the town's secrets forces unlikely alliances between lawlessness and the law.

Blinded by self-doubt and his need for justice, Jimmy never expected to find love-or a sense of home-but Josephine offers both. As danger closes in, Jimmy must navigate working with the gang, the law, and the townspeople to unravel the mystery, protect Josephine, and see justice served.
