The Land of Promise

Most readers of the novels and plays of Somerset Maugham will not immediately associate him with Canada; he did, however, travel to western Canada once, in December 1912, to do research for his drama The Land of Promise, first performed in the United States in December 1913 and first published in London in 1913.
