The Island Prison

It's 1750, and Holly Macgregor is being held captive on the island prison of pirate Captain Ambrose Craven. Alone except for fellow captive Lady Isabel, who feels that a lady should always wait to be rescued, Holly makes her own a desperate plan to escape. Meanwhile, her brother Noah is making plans of his own: he and his friends are on the way to Charles Towne, where they plan to find a boat to take them to the island to rescue Holly. Throw in an ill-tempered skull, a sneaky ocelot, a possum who's not as brave as he pretends, a helpful spider and a tearful alligator, not to mention the highwayman called the Grey Ghost, and who knows what could happen next? McAbee has had several books and nearly a hundred short stories published, some of them quite readable. She takes her geekdom seriously, never misses a sci-fi con, loves dogs and iced tea, and believes the words 'Stan Lee' are interchangeable with 'The Almighty.'
