The Hunchback of Notre Dame is Victor Hugo's romantic gothic novel. Quasimodo was abandoned as a child because of his disfigurement and is raised by the cruel Archdeacon of Notre Dame, Claude Frollo. When Esmeralda, a beautiful gypsy woman catches the attention of Frollo, the evil deacon's actions lead to a series of tragedies.
