About

O. Henry - one of the pen names of William Sydney Porter - is often heralded by critics as the greatest short story writer in American history. So revered is his body of work that the most prestigious prizes awarded to short story writers in the US is the PEN/O. Henry Award.

O. Henry published over twelve of collections of his stories during his long career and his various tales number well over eight hundred (the best-known of these being his Christmas parable "The Gift of the Magi"). Collected here are four of these collections: including "Cabbages and Kings" (a novel consisting of interlinked stories from 1904), "The Four Million" (which contains "The Gift of the Magi" from 1906). "The Trimmed Lamp" (1907) and "Heart of the West" (consisting of a number of Western-themed tales, also from 1907), each as they originally appeared in print.

Truly one of the finest writers of short stories in history, Fort Raphael is proud to share this brilliant collection with a new generation of readers.
