About
A tool for piano teachers and their students, written by a celebrated concert pianist and highly regarded university teacher, covering areas of piano technique, which he feels are often not, given sufficient attention. The book contains many musical examples to use in practicing these techniques. The Chapters were originally, written as articles in the American periodical 'Clavier Companion' and its predecessor 'Clavier' and in the Australian 'Music Teacher International' magazine.
All chapters except the last include a good number of short musical examples for the student to work on in these various areas of technique. The book is A4 page size so as, to make the examples easily readable if the book is, put onto the piano music-rest. The British-born author had a very long career as a highly respected teacher in Australia, latterly at The University of Melbourne, and also, as a very successful concert pianist.
