I gave an oath that day. I promised to always try to do the right thing, to help each person or persons that crossed and/or touched my life, to give comfort to those in pain, support to those in need, to teach both by words and example, show compassion, never to judge, always look to each person's worth, believing evil is a circumstance and bad decisions, that good is inherent in each of us, to use each of my skills and powers, both God-given and learned, natural and supernatural, for the good of mankind and not my own selfish needs. I swore to carry myself with dignity and confidence but without pride. I was now a Shaolin Tao Buddhist Priest. I am not so sure that I have lived up to that oath over the next 40 plus years, but I never have forgotten it either.
