Peter Snow has made a great stride in that effort with his book, Jesus of Nazareth, Poking the Hornets' Nest and Kicking the Hornets' Nest. Here we have a narrative, which obviously does contain some interpretation, but more than anything tries to bring the story into the realm of the everyday.
