Tildey Starling, fifteen, who had previously lived her entire life on the 77th floor of Chicago's Compton Tower, moves suddenly to Moab Utah, meets Carmella Blacksnake, a Navajo girl who grew up in a Hogan on the reservation near Navajo Mountain without electricity or running water. Both girls become raging climate change activist hell raisers, upending the world of the wrestling team, the school principal, a County Commissioner, and a team of academic henchmen from the Institute of Advanced Studies.
