About
On her return in late 1936, Anna is reunited with her parents and sister as she and her husband, together with her sister Mary Ann and brother-in-law Harry, try to help the village during the depression. There are high points and low but as she matures, she survives most things that life throws at her. When, at the beginning of another war, she is separated from husband, brother-in-law, son and nephew, she becomes increasingly resourceful, helped by her parents and others, and at the end of the war a final twist takes her story full circle.
