Hello! Who do you see and hear in the woods today? Meet a variety of woodland and water animals in this story written in Anishinaabemowin and English.

Can you see a fox digging, spot two minnows dancing or hear a swarm of bees buzzing? Boozhoo! / Hello! introduces children to familiar animals as they go about their daily activities: walking, running, swimming, climbing and finally - when the day is done - sleeping! Illustrated in a vibrant and colorful woodland style that will appeal to readers young and old alike, and accompanied by an author's note.

Author's note;translations;illustrations
• This is Mangeshig's (formerly known as Joshua) debut as an author, though he has illustrated several Groundwood picture books, including Mii maanda ezhi-gkendmaanh / This Is How I Know and Mnoomin maan'gowing / The Gift of Mnoomin, both written by Brittany Luby.

• Mangeshig's signature woodland style is used here to great effect, implementing blocky shapes and primary colours that appeal to a young audience. His illustrations for this book were first created for his infant daughter!

• Written in both Engish and Anishinaabemowin, Boozhoo! / Hello! contributes to the growing body of First Nations children's literature and supports the revitalization of the Anishinaabemowin language.

• The simple text is a perfect read-aloud for parents of young children, and for readers of any age wishing to practice speaking Anishinaabemowin.
