About

Aphanite City Rein is a short, science-fiction memoir, a colorful and dark glimpse into multiple existences within one, aberrant young mind. An autistic mind. One of this mind's names is Rein. Like most people who travel, he is seeking adventure as a form of evasion. But how far can one travel within the capacity of a reality shared by only one teenager? And how can his innocent imagination be criminal? Aphanite City Rein is story whose characters are blurred, and whose worlds are complex and atmospheric. Set in a dystopian land of a distant future, this story is a teenage misfit's mind stretching far away, and reaching deep within layers and levels of perception of existence. Mr. Antar Aquil was diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) in the third grade, and autism spectrum disorder (ASD) at age 38 (2023). He has been writing fiction since age five while aspiring to be a movie director throughout adolescence. Long before he knew that he's autistic, Antar wrote the science-fiction novella Aphanite City Rein at age 13 (1998) out of cathartic necessity combined with his desire to showcase his storytelling style. In his free time, he employs himself as a financial market strategist, and studies quantum physics, as well as the various ways autism presents itself in adults.
