The action takes place in a small village in northwestern Greece, AVDELA, moves to Thesalonika, and later to Bucharest Romania, where Thiana married and established. The book encompasses the 1920s to the 1970s, including events associated with World War 2 and the rise of the Iron Curtain that separated Eastern Europe for the rest of the world.
