About

About the BookIn this book, I highlight the approach of Dr. Ismail Al-Faruqi (may God have mercy on him) in studying Tawhid. I have endeavored to achieve the goal of highlighting and clarifying his vision in his study of Tawhid, in which he asserted that Tawhid is the essence of Arab-Islamic civilization, its cornerstone, and the foundation of the cognitive system. This vision is embodied in the fact that the essence of Tawhid is based on the trinity of knowledge of religious obligations, knowledge of contemporary reality, and knowledge of the art of applying obligations to reality. All of this requires careful consideration of God Almighty's system in the cosmic and religious laws. The soundness of ideas is measured by the soundness of their origins, their consistency with them, and their ability to produce mechanisms for their implementation. In short, the Muslim Ummah leads other contemporary nations in terms of apparent and latent potential. However, it does not live in the status of a nation witnessing the rise of other nations, but rather suffers from the status of a nation under attack. It has shifted from a nation with a sublime cultural contribution in its past to a nation with a meager and sad contribution in its present. It needs to activate God's laws to change the soul and life through pure monotheism, which transcends the level of elite action to the level of qualifying the entire Ummah to represent the project of cultural reform. This can be summarized in thirteen aspects that confirm that monotheism is: the essence of religious experience, the essence of civilization, the principle of history, the principle of knowledge, the principle of the unseen, the principle of ethics, the principle of social order, the principle of the nation, the principle of the family, the principle of the political order, the principle of the economic order, the principle of the global order, and the principle of beauty. These approaches are the duty of the age for the group and the individual. The most important question remains: What is the impact of monotheism on all these aspects?
