A Wish and His Demand

As a child, Amanda can see pictures in the clouds and spends hours imagining stories about the wispy apparitions. When she tells her mother she wishes she could be a writer, her wish is overheard. A stranger gives her an antique pen, along with the advice to take good care of it, and Amanda's creativity flourishes.Years later, however, she learns success has a price, with a cost that is more than she is willing to pay. One of the critters is rumored to be ET's second cousin, but that has not been confirmed.
