In an instant beautiful young Manella's life is ruined when her heartless Uncle Herbert announces that he is going to sell her beloved horse, Heron, and her adorable English Setter, Flash.
Worse still he dashes all her hopes and dreams with the bombshell that she is to marry a decrepitly old but rich Duke who only wants a wife so he can have a son.
