In 9 Gold Bullets, the twelfth novel in Christopher G. Moore's Shamus Award-winning Vincent Calvino noir detective series, a priceless collection of gold bullet coins from the reign of Rama V has vanished-along with a prominent Thai collector. When Bangkok police trace a link to Calvino's childhood friend Josh Stein, now ensnared by a ruthless Russian client, the case draws Calvino into a web of international intrigue. As the private eye pursues the trail of the missing coins, his investigation crosses continents-from Bangkok's noir backstreets to New York's shadowy alleys. Joined by his ally Colonel Pratt, Calvino faces ruthless figures who will kill to bury the truth. The search forces him to confront questions of friendship, loyalty, and the price of trust in a world where morality has a market value.Blending hardboiled suspense with the cultural depth of Asia Noir, Moore delivers a thriller rich in atmosphere and psychological insight. 9 Gold Bullets captures the collision of East and West and the moral ambiguities that define the modern investigator.
