The Bane of the Black Sword is the sixth and penultimate volume in the saga of Elric and his terrible, soul-eating magical sword, Stormbringer.

In the last story in this collection - 'To Rescue Tanelorn' Elric's brother-in-arms, Rackhir the Red, is forced to travel through the five gateway realms in a quest to reach the Domain of the Grey Lords in search of aid to save the besieged city of Tanelorn from a horde of unimaginable evil.
