The Penance

In a quaint rural setting, Octavian Ruttle is a well-meaning but somewhat oblivious man whose life takes a dark turn when he is compelled to kill a tabby cat that has been preying on his chickens. Despite his amiable nature, Octavian feels guilt and unease about his actions, especially when he learns that the cat belonged to three children living in a nearby house.
