Pimsleur Swedish Level 1

The Pimsleur® Method: the easiest, fastest way to learn a new language. You'll be speaking and understanding in no time flat! This course includes Lessons 1-5 from the Swedish Level 1 Program, featuring 2.5 hours of language instruction. Each lesson provides 30 minutes of spoken language practice, with an introductory conversation, and new vocabulary and structures. Detailed instructions enable you to understand and participate in the conversation. Practice for vocabulary introduced in previous lessons is included in each lesson. The emphasis is on pronunciation and comprehension, and on learning to speak Swedish. A User's Guide is included. The Swedish Language: Swedish is an Indo-European language that belongs to the North Germanic branch of the Germanic languages, all of which derive from Old Norse. This course teaches rikssvenska (sometimes referred to as Standard Swedish) as spoken in and around the capital region of Stockholm. Swedish is spoken by approximately 10 million people, mostly in Sweden and parts of Finland. Norwegian and Swedish are considered mutually intelligible, with Danish also being very similar.
