The English Revised Version (ERV) of the Bible, published between 1881 (New Testament) and 1885 (Old Testament), represents the first major, officially authorized revision of the King James Version (KJV).
Initiated by the Church of England, the revision was undertaken by two committees comprising over fifty British scholars.
